University of Louisville Graduate Fellow and alumna Cishella Durling is a passionate disability advocate committed to raising awareness of the barriers that limit access to education, employment, housing, and beyond for disabled individuals. Her advocacy is deeply inspired by her younger sister, Racquel Garcia, whose authentic approach to life exemplifies strength and resilience. Cishella’s son, Elijah Hampton, who has ADHD, brings a joyful spirit to the Belknap campus, encouraging others to reconnect with their inner child. Together, Cishella, Racquel, and Elijah are reshaping the narrative around disability and working to build a more inclusive community for all.
