Ekstrom Library Floor Plans: Rare Books

Rare Books

Rare Books is the treasure trove in Ekstrom Library. Some of the treasures include: the original charter of the City of Louisville (signed by Thomas Jefferson), rare first editions, and the world’s largest institutional collection of the works of Edgar Rice Burroughs (creator of Tarzan).

All materials are available for research. The staff assists researchers, provides presentations and special exhibitions and gives advice on the care of manuscripts and books.

Rare Books shares a reading room and service desk with Photographic Archives (just next door).
