Note: No other action is needed once the connection is set up. Please wait a bit for the system to synchronize the information. Check back later, your publications listed in ORCID will show up in your Publications tab in Fund Finder.
It is a free, open-source, online application that helps researchers create data management plans (DMP). These plans are now required by many funding agencies as part of the proposal submission process.
DMPs are a defined work type within an ORCID record and are listed on an individual’s ORCID record. When a DMPTool user “Registers” their plan, a DMP ID is generated, and this record is automatically pushed to ORCID and included as a work on their ORCID profile page. SciENcv (Science Experts Network Curriculum Vitae) is a new electronic system that helps researchers assemble the professional information needed for participation in federally funded research.
Agencies requiring or recommending the use of SciENcv or approved template:
SciENcv is available in My NCBI (The National Center for Biotechnology Information). There are different ways to access SciENcv. Here we describe only one way with ORCiD.
Prerequisites: Already have an ORCiD and My NCBI account.
Step 1. Go to SciENcv home page
Step 2. Click on "Log in" and sign in with your ORCiD
Step 3. If you don't see "My NCBI" page, click on your login name at the upper right-hand corner to see a dropdown list of options
Step 4. Click on Dashboard (My NCBI page should be displayed and SciENcv is listed on the page)
Prerequisites: Already have an ORCiD and My NCBI account.
Step 1. Go to SciENcv home page at https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sciencv/
Step 2. Click on "Log in" and sign in with your ORCiD
Step 3. Link to an existing NCBI account
Step 4. Sign in with your NCBI credentials and you should see the SciENcv page. If not, go to My NCBI dashboard page (see instructions above), click on "Manage SciENcv"
Step 5. You should see that your ORCiD is listed as a linked account.
Once your ORCID account is linked to NCBI, information stored in your ORCID account can populate your SciENcv profile.
