Interlibrary Loan & Document Delivery: About Document Delivery

Interlibrary Loan provides access to articles, books, and other materials that are not owned by the University of Louisville Libraries.

Document Delivery

Document Delivery is a service provided by Kornhauser Health Sciences Library and Ekstrom Library. This service is used to request that library-owned articles or book chapters less than 50 pages in length, and within copyright fair use, be scanned for electronic delivery to the patron.

Ekstrom Library

Ekstrom Library provides document delivery services to UofL faculty, staff, graduate and undergraduate students on Belknap Campus. Ekstrom and Art Library article and book chapter holdings are available for document delivery. Ekstrom Library also offers book delivery to faculty members associated with an academic department. The book delivery service delivers books held by Ekstrom library as well as the ILL requests of the professor.

Kornhauser Health Sciences Library

Kornhauser Health Sciences Library provides document delivery services to all faculty, staff, and students on the Health Sciences Campus. Kornhauser Health Sciences Library also offers Document Delivery services to members of the Louisville health services community, including physicians and other health practitioners, and the legal profession for a fee of $15.00 per request. Additional charges may be incurred

Bridwell Art Library

If you are Art Faculty, you are entitled to Book Delivery:

  1. To the Art Library for your ILL In-Library Use Only or special collection materials or
  2. To the Hite Art Institute office in Schneider Hall for other ILL and Ekstrom Library materials. 

To sign up, let the ILL coordinator know and they will make the necessary changes for your material to be delivered to the Art Library or art department office.  

Intra-Campus Requests

If you'd like an item from Kornhauser Health Sciences Library delivered to Ekstrom Library (or vice versa) you can submit that request through the Interlibrary Loan system.
