Citations Exercise

Take 5 minutes with your partner next to you and answer the following questions: 
  1. When are the authors’ names introduced within sentences? When are they tucked into parentheses? What is the significance of these differences?
  2. Refer to the reference list in your article & describe the patterns you see in the reference list. What characteristic appears first? Second? Why might these things appear in the order in which they do? 
  3. Without using the citation feature in the database, provide the citation for your article. Look to what seems to be other journal articles in the references of your article, or refer to the Purdue OWL website for guidance.
