joshjames… is an up and coming artist from Louisville, Kentucky and has been a music-maker since the age of 11. He began producing beats for fun, and as time went on, he began to rap over them as well. He has just released his debut album, music to inspire. , an innovative lo-fi trap album about the journey joshjames… takes to become an artist, and in the form of a monomyth. His music has been described as “conscious cloud rap.”

Emmett "Rei" Smith is 21-years-old, is from Chicago, Illinois, and is a current AMPED participant. The songs he has chosen to perform for Melanin Music Monday are dear to his heart. The first is about love and the other is about when you lose someone you love. He hopes everyone will enjoy the show.

He is currently a senior at UofL, majoring in business administration with minors in music and new media, and computer information systems.
