Request a Book

Need help getting books? The Art Library is making it even easier for you to get the items you need with our book request service!

From the Library Catalog, login with your ULink ID and password to access your library account. You can see what you have checked out and renew your books.

Once you find a book, click on the title to access the full page and select the green Request Item button to place a hold. The Art Library will pull the book and put it on hold for you at the service desk. You will receive an email when the item is ready for pickup.

Interlibrary Loan

No library has everything! Interlibrary Loan (ILL) allows you to request items that aren't owned by the UofL Libraries from another library around the world.

To replace a request, login with your ULink and password. Click on New Requests, select the appropriate item type (book, article, thesis, etc.), and complete the form with as much information as possible. You will be notified when the item has arrived; electronic items will be sent to your email and physical items will be available for pickup at Ekstrom Library. Submit your request as early as possible. We are unable to provide an estimate since the timeline depends on the lending library and delivery.

You can also replace a request within the library catalog by clicking Request Item through Interlibrary Loan. This will only pop up if the item is not held by the UofL Libraries.
