The University of Louisville Digital Collections include rare and unique images, documents, and oral histories from our archives, special collections, and other campus units.

Our mission is to collect, preserve, and provide access to interviews that document the history of the greater Louisville area as well as the University of Louisville. We initiate oral history projects and support projects undertaken by community groups in a variety of ways.

The Photographic Archives houses over two million photographs and associated records and manuscripts. Hundreds of discrete collections include national documentary projects, local history photographs and an excellent museum collection of fine prints.

The content featured in this collection explores linkages between women’s suffrage and other social causes of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries (anti-slavery, anti-lynching, education reform and civil rights) as well as racism within the Suffrage Movement.

The National Archives for Black Women's History (NABWH) is the only Archive solely dedicated to the history of African American women. The core of the collection is the historic corporate records of the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW), along with personal papers, and corporate records of organizations mostly associated with the NCNW.

The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in Harlem, one of The New York Public Library’s renowned research libraries, is a world-leading cultural institution devoted to the research, preservation, and exhibition of materials focused on African American, African Diaspora, and African experiences.
