Library Services available to UofL Alumni

Visit the UofL Libraries

Alumni are welcome to visit any of the UofL Libraries. Identification Is not required when visiting during hours open to the general public. View the library hours.

Off-Campus Access 

Off-campus access to UofL online databases/journals is not provided to alumni. You must be on campus to access these sources.

Computer Logins

Go to one of the UofL libraries service desks to apply for a guest login to access online databases and journals. Please bring a photo I.D. (e.g., driver's license).

Book Check-Out

Residents of Kentucky can apply for a Community Borrower's card at Circulation. This card lets you check out books.

View the Borrowing Privileges or direct questions to Circulation: 852-6757.

 

Other Resources

Free Online Websites

There are free public domain websites you can search to find scholarly articles (e.g. Google Scholar) and evidence based literature. The websites are recommended by Social Work faculty.

Public Library Services

The state of Kentucky has public libraries you can visit to apply for a library card.

The library card is your gateway to book check-outs and accessing their online databases. The Louisville Free Public Library (LFPL) has access to databases like EBSCO Academic and Psychology Behavioral Sciences Collection.

Residents of other states should contact a public library within your area.
