About Veterans Day

Understanding the Difference: Veterans Day vs. Memorial Day

Although both holidays honor those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, they mark different forms of recognition. Memorial Day, observed each May, commemorates those who died in service to their country, offering a time for national remembrance. Veterans Day, observed each November, honors all U.S. military veterans, both living and deceased, for their service in war and peace. Together, these observances reflect the nation’s enduring gratitude for those who served and sacrificed.
