The UofL Office of Research and Innovation provides information about how to find funding and access two grant funding databases: PIVOT and InfoReady.
NSF Grant Funding
Grant funding through the National Science Foundation (NSF).
Grants.gov
US government grant funding opportunties.
Geological Society of America Student Grants
Look for North-Central grant application. Must be a GSA member.

Dimensions
Log in via your institution with your user name and password. Try keywords related to your topic and look at grants that have been awarded in the past.

Data Management Plans

Many federally funded grant programs, such as the NSF, require researchers to submit a data management plan with their proposal.

Basic data management plans will include:

description of the project and data that will be produced
standards used for metadata format and contents
legal and ethical issues, such as intellectual property, copyright issues, and privacy
how the data will be accessed, shared, and reused
plan for short-term data storage, backup, security, disposal, and preservation
