Find Data

The open science movement encourages researchers to make their publications, data, peer review feedback, and other research materials publicly available. This transparency makes scientific knowledge more readily accessible to other researchers and interested citizens. Open data makes it easier to reproduce studies and leads to more high quality research.

As a student researcher, you can find data in open repositories to use for our own research and analysis.

There are lots of subject-specific data repositories available online, but here are some general ones to get you started.

Fast Facts

Academic journals assume some level of familiarity with complex concepts. You won't be able to find basic information about organisms in an academic journal article. Online encyclopedias are your best bet!
