Access & User Services: Equipment

Equipment Loan Policy:

• Equipment is available for check out to all UofL Students, Staff, and Faculty.
• Community Borrowers are only allowed to check out headphones.
• Equipment is loaned on a first-come, first-served basis. Requests or holds cannot be placed on equipment.
• Equipment may only be used within Ekstrom Library.
• All laptops must stay in the library and not allowed beyond the security gates. Starbucks is past the security gates; therefore, laptops are not allowed in Starbucks.
• Equipment must be handed to a service desk employee.
• Equipment may not be returned if the desk is unattended or after service desk hours.
• Returning equipment in the after-hours book drop box is not permitted.
• Patrons cannot check out equipment if there are overdue items, lost items, fines, or a bursar block on their account.
• The patron is responsible for all theft or damage to the equipment while it is charged to their account.
• Failure to return equipment, or the return of damaged equipment can result in a fee charged on the patron’s account, a hold placed on their account, or a bursar block.
• All equipment must be returned no later than 30 minutes before the circulation desks close
• Laptops are due 1 hour before the circulation desk closes, regardless of checkout time.

Replacement fees:
