Records Management: Retrieving Records

Information on how and for how long University of Louisville records should be retained.

Retrieving Non-Permanent Records

The University Archives and Records Center (UARC) retrieves non-permanent records from its offsite facility on a weekly basis, on Wednesday mornings.  Requests for records retrieval must be submitted in writing by noon on Tuesday for records to be pulled on Wednesday.  These requests may be submitted either by email or using the electronic request form below.  To expedite retrieval, please include an accession number along with a folder title and box number.

Retrieving Permanent Records

Permanent records stored with UARC are typically retrieved the same day.  Requests may be submitted by email or using the electronic request form below.

Mail/Pickup

Where possible, records are sent via campus mail.  If expedited services are necessary, records may be picked up at the Archives and Special Collections research room, located on the lower level of Ekstrom Library or special arrangements may be made to pick up records at the offsite storage facility.
