Consumed is an accordion artist book about the process of consuming an orange. It begins with purchasing oranges and all the various uses: juice to drink, models for painting, invisible ink from the juice, and textile dye made from from the leftover peels. We hunger for sweet juice and lust for youthful glossy skin. But are we the ones being consumed? The cover is printed with a orange skin-like gloss, the “consumed” cover logo is orange-scented scratch-and-sniff, and the book is housed in a plastic sleeve screen-printed as a mesh fruit bag. Sewn spine houses the accordion zine within the orange cover.
