Systematic Reviews and Evidence Syntheses

You will need a way to organize the evidence you find in your searches. We recommend using a citation management software, such as Endnote, as the most efficient way to handle that organization.

These tools can also automate some of the deduplication and full-text retrieval processes, enhance collaboration, facilitate accuracy and consistency in citing and formatting references, and save time while writing and revising your manuscript.

Endnote

Endnote is our most robust option for citation management. It allows the user to:

  • Customize deduplication and display settings
  • Automatically retrieve many full-text PDFs
  • Export references formatted for Covidence screening
  • Bulk upload PDFs to Covidence for full-text eligibility assessment
  • Sync with Microsoft Word to instantly format in-text citations and reference lists
  • Consult our librarians for support

This resource is provided to UofL faculty, staff, and students at no cost to the user through UofL's Web Store. Co-authors not affiliated with UofL can still collaborate on projects in Endnote by signing up and using the free Endnote Web version.
