The Kornhauser Library Historical Collections holds artifacts and records* from the Louisville General Hospital School of Nursing. The University tried to implement a Nursing Department in the mid-1950s, but it wasn’t until 1979 that the University developed a viable School of Nursing. Nursing had always been taught at the hospitals as a vocational / technical discipline.
