"Throughout THE DEERSLAYERS we are led to understand the characters and enter into their passions and motives. And like all good work, the effect is a revelation of reality. Krims' photography adds a new constellation to our human universe, a new segment to the great realistic drama of history. Meet the deerslayers." - Alex J.Sweetman.
Edition of 1000, Art Library has copy 610. "As often as not, the images are of posed subjects, delicately choreographed and designed, acting out the most frightening, humorous and arcane tableaux … There was no actual corpse for this series … In this series of ten pictures … fictional murders take place."
The Little People of America 1971 is a limited edition portfolio of 24 photographic prints by the artist Les Krims. The project, which includes an essay by A. D. Coleman, features images from conventions of the Little People of America (LPA), an organization founded by actor Billy Barty. Krims aimed to portray the subjects as "normal" people, counteracting negative stereotypes of people with dwarfism prevalent at the time.
