Aline Apostolska, Bernard Gast, Jacques Fournier
Art Library Rare Books Collection PQ 3919.2 .A644 D4 2001 box 15.2

Limited edition of 21 copies. In De ma nuit naît ton jour, (From my Night your day is born), (2001) text from Aline Apostolska with a photograph from the French artist Bernard Gast, the purpose was to create a book integrating day and night, light and darkness. The book wooden structure takes the shape of a double frame window, it suggests a stereoscopic photograph. Without light, the image is opaque. It is revealed only while holding the book in front of a light source. The fragmented image of a person drowning, based on film shots, creates a movement, waves of various lengths similar to the ones of the text.%mdash;J. Fournier's website, viewed Sept. 17, 2019.
