Instruction Sessions

Archives and Special Collections is happy to host class sessions and/or to serve as guest or co-instructors for those sessions.

Typically, sessions are held in our Mazzoli Reading Room (4th Floor, Ekstrom Library), which can seat 32 and includes wall-mounted flat screens. Our staff members can transport materials requested in advance to the Mazzoli Reading Room and remain there with them throughout the session. Due to security requirements, individual schedules, and our need to simultaneously staff our research room desk (lower level, Ekstrom Library), we require sufficient advance notice (normally, before the start of the semester) and reserve the right to reject any request.

Please contact us at ASCTeach@louisville.edu to start the planning process.

Exhibitions

Archives & Special Collections (ASC) provides opportunities for UofL students to practice scholarly communication through coursework and exhibits. Our exhibit spaces, both physical and digital, function as sites for emerging scholars to channel their growing research skills into public storytelling.

Faculty interested in providing an exhibit creation experience for their students and students interested in an exhibit-related internship should contact ASCTeach@louisville.edu to explore the possibilities. Acceptance of exhibit creation experience proposals is subject matter and viewpoint neutral. However, exhibits must use material from ASC’s collections, fit in our existing exhibition calendar, and match the expertise and availability of our staff.
