Inclusion of people with disabilities is a crucial step to integrate disability justice perspectives into health professions education. People with disabilities experience specific negative health disparities when compared to people without disabilities; also, the spaces of health professions education are frequently ableist, and the voices of disabled patients and co-workers are often ignored. In the presentation, Drs. Noonan and Chandan will compare ways of understanding disability, describe the health and educational disparities that impact health professions education, and discuss best practices and strategies for improving accessibility.
