Who can check out books?
- Full information on borrowing privileges, loan periods, and other relevant circulation-related information, can be found by visiting our University Libraries borrowing policies.
- Archives & Special Collections: Materials cannot be checked out of the Archives and Special Collections. They must be used in the ASC research rooms.
- Art Library: UofL Students, UofL Faculty, UofL Staff, UofL Retirees, and Visiting Academics. Art Library borrowing policies

- University Hospital: Hospital employees may check out materials from the Hospital Library following completion of a library card application. UofL faculty, residents, medical students and dental students also have Hospital Library circulation privileges. Others may use library materials in house.
