HON 436: The City - Leonard: Popular Sources

News

Access World News

  1. Go to library.louisville.edu and click Subject Guides under Quick Tools.
  2. Choose News, then click on Access World News.
  3. Next to the Newbank logo, click A-Z Source List.
  4. Search for your city to find news sources from that city. You can also see what dates of the publication are covered in Access World News. (You can also search for a specific publication title, e.g. LA Times.)
  5. Click on the title of a news source to search within that publication.

US Newsstream

  1. Go to library.louisville.edu and click Subject Guides under Quick Tools.
  2. Choose News, then click on US Newsstream.
  3. Click Publications in the green bar at the top of the page.
  4. Search for your city to find news sources from that city. You can also see what dates of the publication are covered in Access World News. (You can also search for a specific publication title, e.g. LA Times.)
  5. Click on the title of a news source to search within that publication.

Magazines

When searching in the databases listed on the previous page, you can select Magazine under Source Type to find credible magazine sources. These will often be shorter articles written for the general public as opposed to peer-reviewed articles written for an academic audience.
