"Pictures are not always what they seem; since most of these images operate as visual cognates, puns, or indirect referrals, it's important to credit the original source, author, and intention of borrowed imagery. This work is an exercise in counterpoint. The quality of its resonance owes a great deal to the richness of these original manifestations. This work does not intend to mock or parody any image represented herein, but seeks rather, to question the authority inherent in contemporary mythology. If myth's function is to resolve cultural contradiction (to crudely paraphrase Levi-Strauss), then hopefully there is something here to chew on"—Accompanying printed sheet.
