ASC Visitor Policies

Personal Identification

Bring your identification card as your ID will be checked when you arrive at the research room. An ID card simply needs to be an official piece of identification with your name on it. It does not have to include your photograph.

No Food or Drink

As in most archival settings, beverages, food (including gum, cough drops, and mints), and use of tobacco products are not permitted, as these may damage the materials.

Writing / Recording Implements

Pencils are to be used for notes to safeguard original material, and paper must be loose - no notebooks, folders, or books may be brought to the tables in the Research Room.

Laptops are permitted, but must be removed from any sleeves or cases.

Researchers may be allowed at the sole discretion of Archives and Special Collections (ASC) to use personal digital cameras (cell phone, point & shoot, and tablet cameras) within ASC in order to copy materials. See the camera policy for additional information.

Lockers are provided to house researchers' bags while they visit. These lockers are located in the research room.
