Encyclopedia of Human Rights

This volume is a comprehensive source on international, regional and national efforts to promote human rights from 1945 to 1990. It uses a standard encyclopedia format. It includes a subject index, a glossary and a selected bibliography in its appendix.

Encyclopedia of Nationalism

This work provides a summary of the major concepts, key players, and history of nationalism. The entries are relatively brief, with the longest being a couple pages. Each entry has a short bibliography for further research.

Encyclopedia of the Stateless Nations

Eldis: the gateway to development information

"The International Data Base (IDB) is a computerized data bank containing statistical tables of demographic, and socio-economic data for 227 countries and areas of the world."

Japan Information Network

Information on Japanese government, culture, education, business, statistics, regions (and more). It also has a special section for kids. The site provides a search engine, a subject tree and a guide for easy navigation.

National Constitutions

National Constitutions of 96 nations.

Political Database of the Americas

"The database provides documentary and statistical political information on Latin America, including constitutions, electoral laws, legislative and executive branch information and election data." The database can be searched by keyword, but is also organized by country for browsing.

Provides full-text reports created by Amnesty International (from 1996 to the present). The site has a search engine and browse capabilities. The site also supplies information on the organization, its campaigns, and contact information.

This is the United Nations homepage. It provides information on the documents, conferences, publications and news that involves the UN. It gives access to online databases, including a search function.
  • Group of 77: This is the page of the largest Third World coalition within the UN. It is concerned with economic issues. The page provides access to publications, speeches and documents produced by the group.
  • InfoNation: This UN page provides easy access to information on the geography, economy, population and social indicators of member states.

World Bank

The World Bank page links to information on the publications, news and information on the World Bank. It also gives information on individual countries in regards to development. The page has a search function.
