General Information

The University of Louisville subscribes to a wide variety of databases (over 200), many of which are already set-up in the EndNote and Reference Manager softwares. In order to use these, you must know the vendor through which UofL subscribes. For example, UofL subscribes to PsycInfo through OVID and Ebscohost not CSA or OCLC. To determine our vendor, see the All Databases A-Z list. The vendor will be in parentheses after the database description. The database may still require a password for connection though which is not included for security reasons.If you are a valid UofL user, you can request the id and password by sending an e-mail to Anna Marie Johnnson or calling 502.852.1491.

Connection Files: Connection files are only listed as they are requested by our users. To inquire about a connection file not on the list below, please send e-mail to Anna Marie Johnson or call 502.852.1491.

Tip: Keep in mind that connection files do not always search accurately. Double check your search in the database before assuming you have all the results available.

IEEE Engineering Village	N/A		N/A	Import filter in EndNote is 2001 and it appears the results in IEEE are not able to be exported as tagged ASCI text. You can download the results in EndNote format from the database and this appears to work well.

Science Direct	N/A		N/A	No connection file or import filter available. Download results directly from database into EndNote.
Social Work Abstracts (SilverPlatter)	N/A		Import	Appears to have a Direct Export Feature, but this doesn't seem to work. Must save file as .txt and import. Also, ISSN does not appear to be an available field.
