General Encyclopedias
Encyclopedia Americana
The Encyclopedia Americana includes 45,000 articles contributed
by over 6,500 specialists in their respective disciplines and cover
all academic fields and curriculum topics. (Grolier)

Encyclopaedia Britannica (1911 ed)
This "1911 Edition Encyclopedia" is based on the 11th edition of the Encyclopaedia Britannica, published in 1911. The print set was 29 volumes, over 44 million words and contained over 40,000 articles written by over 1,500 authors within their various fields of expertise. Many of the entries were written by the most famous people of the time. Andrew Lang wrote the article "Fairy" and Thomas Huxley, "Biology," for instance. This set was considered to represent the sum of human knowledge at the beginning of the 20th Century.

Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia
The Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia is based on the text of the Academic American Encyclopedia. Contains thousands of new and expanded articles, multimedia, extensive hyperlinking, bibliographies and links to other sources of information on the Web.
New Encyclopaedia Britannica
Ekstrom Library Ref. AE 5 .E363 2002
Recognized as the "most prestigious" and most scholarly general encyclopedia.
First published in 1768 it is the second oldest continuously published reference work in the English
Language. 32 volumes.
World Book Encyclopedia
Ekstrom Library Ref. AE 5 .W55 2002
This encyclopedia is designed to be a "Family" encyclopedia, meeting reference
needs of all ages, and has long been a standard in schools and libraries. Profusely
illustrated with maps, graphs, and photographs, the 23 volumes have great visual appeal.
