SciFinder Scholar 2007 - PC


SciFinder Scholar PC

You can now use SciFinder Scholar for the PC from your office or lab. SciFinder Scholar is a Client/Server interface used to search the electronic version of Chemical Abstracts along with the CAS registry, reactions and regulatory information databases. It contains nearly 14 million citations from over 8,000 journals worldwide. Medline is also included (to view other ways to access Medline, see http://library.louisville.edu/research/sub/dbsM.html and scroll down to Medline). Scholar 2007 offers varied ways to search and explore chemical information. When available, the full-text of articles found with SciFinder Scholar can be accessed.

Downloading/installing instructions

To install SciFinder Scholar 2007:

To install Web Viewer Lite 5.0:

After the installation is finished, Web Viewer Lite 5.0 should be available to function with SciFinder Scholar.

Note: ViewerLite is no longer supported by Accelrys, Inc. but may be downloaded free of charge for SciFinder Scholar customers. ViewerLite is provided "AS IS", without warranties of any kind by SciFinder Scholar. However, the UofL Libraries will leave our link and make it available to download WITHOUT SUPPORT from UofL or Accelrys. After the installation is finished, Web Viewer Lite 5.0 should be available to function with SciFinder Scholar.

A software patch that corrects the viewing of 3D models with Accelrys Viewer products when accessed from SciFinder is available at http://www.accelrys.com/support/life/patches/ds_viewerpro/. This patch works for version 5.0 of both DS ViewerPro and ViewerLite.

To install Discovery Studio Visualizer 1.7:

    1. Exit all applications on your computer(NOTE: you can only download Visualizer from a computer within the UofL IP address range).
    2. Click on: Discovery Studio Visualizer
    3. Save the .EXE file on your hard disk; for example, your Desktop
    4. Double-click on the saved .EXE file and let the auto-installer run.
