Wireless Laptop Internet Access

The University of Louisville provides wireless internet access in many public areas on all three campuses, including Ekstrom Library, Kornhauser Library, the Art Library, and the Music Library.

Faculty, staff, and students are required to use the Odyssey client software for secure wireless connections. The Odyssey client provides network login (using your ULink userid and password). Odyssey is available at no charge to university faculty, staff, and students.

Wired (Ethernet) Laptop Internet Access

In each library, some wired Internet connections are available for UofL students, faculty and staff to connect their laptops to the internet by using an Ethernet cable and an internet outlet. To get wired Internet access, you need to fill out a registration form and turn it in to the libraries.

• Be sure your laptop has an Ethernet card and you have a Cat5 cable. (Cat5 cables can be purchesed at IT CopyIT Centers.)
• Register your Ethernet card with the University Libraries before it is used.

• Take your completed form with your current UofL ID to OLT (Ekstrom Library, Room W011). You may also take your form and UofL ID to the Libraries Administration Office (Ekstrom Library 203).
