Computer Services

Computer Workstations
Computer workstations are located on all three floors of the library. Please
see the floor
plans for locations of the workstations. They provide access to the
library catalog and other research databases. Microsoft Office
applications such as Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint are also available on
these workstations. Email may be accessed when it is necessary for research purposes at these
workstations. Students may also use the workstations for listening to
audio reserves. Headphones may be checked out at the circulation desk
or students may use their own headphones. Patrons may not save or download information to the workstations. It
is expected that files that need to be saved will be downloaded to a floppy
disk or flash drive, sent to an email address, or printed. Please visit our
copying
& printing page for more information on these services.
-
Express Workstation
There is one express workstation located on the first floor of the library.
During busy times, this workstation
should only be used for brief research and has a 5 minute limit.
- Wireless Access
We have 3 wireless laptops that can be checked out for in-library use. Please go to the
circulation desk for this service. You can also access the Internet from your own wireless ready laptop. Please visit the
U of L Wireless website for more
information and instructions. The wireless network is managed by the university's Information Technology (IT) Department.
Assistance from the Music Library is limited. Should you have any hardware, software, or logon issues, please seek
advice from IT's HelpDesk (852-7997)
or visit a Computing Center.
