Search History

The Search History screen allows you to see a list of the searches you have performed during your current session. You can re-execute or edit any previous searches within that same session. You can also combine previous Advanced Searches.

Select the SEARCH HISTORY button from the top of the screen. At least one search must be completed for this button to be available. The Search History screen lists the number of items found for each search (Hits), the Search Type (Keyword, Title, Author, etc.), and exactly what you searched for.

The Search History display consists of four columns:

3 23 Journal Title time
4 4688 Keyword--boolean (and,or,not) environ? and water
5 70 Keyword--boolean (and,or,not) gone and wind
  1. Edit- searches are listed in the order entered, most recent first; click on a number to edit search terms, reset options, etc.
  2. Hits- the number of catalog records retrieved for that search.
  3. Search Type- the search method used is shown as a hypertext link; select to re-execute the search
  4. Searched For- the word or phrase searched (including Boolean operators); select to re-execute the search.

Note: The Search History does not retain information about Search Limits. When a search is re-executed or edited, any current limits in effect will be used instead of limits previously specified.
