SEARCH, NAVIGATION, and OUTPUT INFORMATION :                                                                                     Several lines of information relating to the search are displayed in the Brief View:

  • Search Results:
A line identifies the currently displayed catalog record number within the total search set (e.g., Displaying 2 of 25 records, Displaying 1 of 10,000 records).
    • A search in Minerva never results in more than 10,000 catalog records, even when more than 10,000 records match the search. If the results set is truncated at 10,000, a warning message appears in the Titles List and Search Results List displays.
    • Subject, Author and Call Number searches are set to "browse" Minerva for the search term entered and all terms following in alphabetical order. Since this method does not create a distinct record set, the number of search results on each page always states: Displaying 1 through 50 of 50 records. This does not mean that only 50 records match your search criteria. You can browse forward and backward through this list using the previous and next buttons.
  • Navigation Icons:
If a search retrieves multiple catalog records, it is possible to page back and forward through the list, one record at a time, using the previous and next buttons.
  • Print, Save or E-mail
Below the display of the catalog record information is a table which offers Save Options. For more information consult the help screen for Print, Save or E-mail. The format of the record printed/saved/e-mailed is not the same as the view on the screen. Use the Print Screen browser button if you want to capture all of the information in this view.
