KENTUCKY UNION LIST OF SERIALS
Reporting options:
While the list below outlines the methods most commonly used to forward serial
holdings information to the KULS office, we work to be flexible in this
regard. Please let us know if you would like to discuss the possibility of
sending in your updates in some other fashion.
1) Email: Most participating libraries send their updates to the KULS office by
attaching a Word document containing this information to an email message to Allen Ashman allen.ashman@louisville.edu .
2) Printouts from local systems: Some libraries acquire printouts from their
system administrators. These work fine as long as they contain all the
required bibliographic information and only those titles that have had
holdings changes since the last update. For this reason, this method is often
used only by those libraries that are adding their holdings to the KULS for
the first time.
3) Direct in-house updating in OCLC: Several libraries in the state have
started to process their own union listing records. This can be done by using
the browser version of OCLC's Connexion. Separate union listing logon codes are no
longer used. Union listing is now done under cataloging authorizations. Online
tutorials can be accessed at: OCLC Local Holdings Maintenance Tutorials.
