Journal Finder helps you locate electronic journal titles subscribed or free that are accessible through the University of Louisville Libraries. There are three ways to do a journal title search:

1. Advanced Search (search by Journal Title, ISBN, etc.)
2. Basic Search (search by Journal Title, or E-Journal browsing)
3. Category Search (subject category browsing)

1. Advanced Search (next)

Advanced Search offers users more search options to find subscribed journal titles. In addition to journal title, you can also search by ISSN, specific article information, DOI (Digital Object Identifier number), or PubMed ID (PubMed ID number).

To initiate an Advanced Search, Click on the Advanced Search tab.

Type the name of the desired title and click the GO button. (abbreviations for journals will not work) OR Type the eight digit ISSN number. AND For more precise results you can provide additional information. If you know any of the optional information (article title, date, volume, issue, start/end page, or the author name), adding this optional additional information may lead you closer to the article you need. OR Using the DOI or PMID, if you have them, are two more ways to quickly find an article.

2. Basic Search (previous, next)

Type the name of the journal title in the text box. (abbreviations for journals will not work). Then click on the red “GO” button.

Another way is to browse through the A-Z list.
Simply click on the first letter of the title name and browse through the list of titles.

3. Category Search (previous)

Category Search allows users to browse journal titles according to subject.
To initiate an Advanced Search, Click on the Category tab.

Click on the Category Tab.  Then, highlight the category you need in the left menu box.  Subcategories will appear in the menu box that correspond to the highlighted subject.  Highlight the desired subcategory. Note that the number of titles that fall into a specific subcategory is listed.
Once you find and highlight a category and subcategory you would like to browse, click on the “GO” button.         A title list will appear below your category search box. Scroll down or go to later pages to find your title. Click the button to see if we have that title full-text electronically or in print. The button will connect you to the Find itUofL Services Menu.
