Accessibility Services exists to help users with disabilities take advantage of library resources and services. This service extends to all users of the library, including non UofL students and those who have only a temporary problem which makes library access difficult. The staff will work with these users to help them access library materials, retrieve books and periodicals, make photocopies, and download or scan materials. The Libraries also provide adaptive technology.
To request assistance or reserve any of the adaptive equipment, please contact the Access and User Services Technology Desk at 502.852.5260. If no one is available please contact the AUS West Desk at 502.852.6757.
The University Libraries are committed to service and accessibility and will work with users on an individual basis in any of the libraries as-needed. Services are regularly available Monday through Friday but arrangements can be made for evenings and weekends.
Most library vendor PDFs should be accessible to screen readers, but sometimes they are not. The Libraries will create accessible PDFs for users who are registered with the UofL Disability Resource Center. Please contact Anna Marie Johnson for more information.
