Collection Analysis

Project 1: Identify collection assessment tools.
Description: A joint project of the Liaison Team, Collection Development and ARPT. This group is investigating different methods/approaches to conducting an analysis of our collections that will give us a better indication of collection strengths & weaknesses.
Project Goal: The group will determine a methodology and multi-year timetable for analyzing local collections.

Communications

Project 2: Develop an effective project update tool.
Project Goal: Implementation of project tracking tool
Description: To develop a tool for keeping track of various team activities and measuring progress over the year.
Status: Completed.

Project 3: Update ARPT Intranet page.
Description: Update and expand content of the team page on the intranet
Project Goal: Revised page with content useful to team members and others looking for assessment-related information

Project 4: Update public ARPT web page.
Description: Update and expand content of team page on the public web
Expected Completion Date: Sept 30, 2004
Project Goal: Revised page with content useful to public looking for library assessment-related information.

Data Management

Project 5: Create statistics/data book page for the libraries.
Description: Revise current Intranet statistics page
Project Goal: Revised page with content useful to public and libraries' personnel.

Project 6: Participate in ARL E-Metrics Project.
Description: Identify data required by ARL, determine who in the library collects the information, develop a standardized format for collecting the information, compile 2003-2004 data and submit it to ARL.
Project Goal: To fulfill our participation in the ARL project and to collect information that will be useful in making in-house decisions on electronic products.

Project 7: Create an ARL Benchmarks database.
Description: Build a database that will allow comparisons between UofL and its designated benchmarks that have ARL libraries. Initial components will consist of information about their library assessment practices but could be expanded to include other useful information, such as evaluation practices.
Project Goal: Chart posted in ARPT Intranet pages

ETS/ICT Literacy

Project 8: Host meeting of charter participants in the project.
Description: Work with ETS planners to host a two-day meeting of approximately 20 people working on the development of the ETS ICT literacy assessment tool.
Project Goal: Continue active participation in this project and provide an opportunity for other members of the UofL community to learn about this activity.
Status: Completed.

Project 9: Participate in continuing assessment development.
Description: Complete "homework" assignments, participate in conference calls and respond to other information requests from ETS.
Project Goal: Contribute to the successful development of an assessment tool designed to measure information and communication technology literacy.

Project 10: Develop campus partnerships for this project.
Description: Find at least one other academic unit that is interested in participation in the field trials and possible implementation of the ICT literacy assessment.
Project Goal: Commitment of at least one other unit to
Work on field tests with the libraries.

Project 11: Participate in field trials of the test.
Description: Administer an early version of the ICT literacy assessment to at least 10-20 UofL students during the summer and fall of 2004. This will allow ETS to collect information about the validity and usability of the assessment instrument.
Project Goal: Successful administration of early version of the test.

Deyta QMS Surveys

Project 12: Distribute Spring 2004 results.
Description: To repackage the Deyta survey results in a way that makes the information more accessible and to distribute to the appropriate people.
Project Goal: Provide current information to library directors and team leaders about student satisfaction with the libraries services.

Project 13: Distribute 2003 Employee Satisfaction Survey results.
Description: Provide a summary of the data collected and compiled by the Deyta company.
Project Goal: Report presented in ACT and distributed to all employees with minutes. Status: Completed.

Web Development

Project 14: Conduct usability assessment of proposed topic guide revision.
Description: Develop a method for getting user feedback on the usefulness of proposed revisions to the topic guides linked from the libraries web pages, conduct tests and revise pages accordingly.
Project Goal: Provide information that will help make the topics guides more "user-friendly".
Status: Completed

Project 15: Topic Guides implementation.
Description: Revise the topic guides found under the library/research/directory to better reflect the needs of the undergraduate students in each study area.
Project Goal: More consistent, user-friendly format of topic
guides - the subject pages primarily useful for undergrad research.

Project 16: Conduct a Minerva assessment.
Description: To provide user input on the Minerva OPAC interface.
Project Goal: Provide user feedback on the Minerva interface to the Voyager OPAC group.
Status: Completed

Project 17: Update the Ejournals page.
Description: Implement serials solutions enhancements.
Project Goal: More user-friendly list of ejournals.
Status: Completed

Other

Project 18: Promote usability testing.
Description: Increasing libraries and campus knowledge about web site usability testing.
Project Goal: Providing tools and information to colleagues that will help them create more user-friendly web sites.

Project 19: Make ARPT a resource of choice.
Description:

Project 20: Identify information literacy assessment efforts.
Description: This project involves developing a method and tool for assessing the value of information literacy.
Project Goal: Clear understanding of what we hope to learn about student outcomes and/or our instruction through assessment.
