General Information

The Margaret M. Bridwell Art Library, located on the main floor of Schneider Hall, contains the University’s research collection in art, design and architectural history. The Art Library has more than 87,000 volumes, subscribes to over 300 domestic and foreign journals and museum bulletins, has hundreds of videos and DVDs, and provides access to the major electronic and print indexes.

The Art Library collections cover the areas of painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, glass, photography, architectural history, interior design, graphic design, art education, pottery, fiber arts and decorative arts. The Art Library also has a rare book room which holds approximately 3000 rare and scarce volumes and about 175 linear feet of archival materials.

The Mission of the Art Library is to serve as a gateway to information for teaching, research and scholarship in art and art history.
