Guide to Resources in the University Archives & Records Center

The University of Louisville's Archives and Records Center has many collections that preserve some of the rich history of the visual and performing arts in Louisville. This guide highlights these materials, and provides a starting place for research. In addition to the resources listed in this guide, the University Archives holds the records of the University's School of Music, Department of Fine Arts and the Hite Institute, the Belknap Theatre, and the Departments of Humanities, English, and Theater Arts. The Archives also holds regional reference files that document architecture, art, literature, music, and theater at the University of Louisville and in the greater Louisville community.

More detailed descriptions of many of the collections in this guide are available online, and links to these descriptions (finding aids) are provided along with the brief description. If you have questions, please contact us by telephone at (502) 852-6752 or by email.
